New fan installed, machine is operational again. Idle CPU temp is 34 degrees.

watch -tn1 ‘date +%r | figlet’

On OSX you dont have watch or figlet by default.

You can get them by using MacPorts.

sudo port install watch figlet

Broke my i7 stock fan yesterday while moving a cable inside the cabinet.

I somehow managed to jam a cable into the cpu fan which broke off one of the blades.

This caused it to make a horrible sound and vibrations. The fan was no longer able to provide proper cooling as it sped up to max shortly after.

Machine is now offline awaiting new cpu cooler.

Zalman CNPS10X Flex CPU Cooler should do the trick, at least according to reviews I have read.
